| Child-to-child
support program
Learned and encouraged from the 'Mutthidan
Karyakram', OCRC sees potential of small contributions to make
great achievements. Therefore, we have planned to launch a child-to-child
support program targeting private school children as potential
partners of the OCRC mission. We have planned to approach private
schools in Kathmandu valley appealing the school children to
extend their supportive hands towards the orphaned children.
The school children are expected to make collective efforts
to collect pennies, which are not worthy for them, and make
funds to support the orphaned children. In addition, there will
be organized interactions between the school children and the
orphaned children occasionally to discuss the child issues.
Apart from immediate fund raising from this program, this has
strategic importance that it will create pro-child attitudes
in the long run.
Community based program
OCRC is with the opinion that the protection
and development of orphaned children as all other children should
be part of the local development process. Therefore, we are
planning to work in the communities targeting orphaned children
integrating their issues in the local development plans and
programs. This program will include such development supports
as education, health and nutritional sufficiency.
Publication of 'Tuhurako Awaj' (Orphan's
voice)
We have planned to publish bulletin named orphan's
voice in English and Nepali languages bi-annually. The first
issue of the bulletin will be published shortly. In addition,
we have also planned to publish books targeting orphans to use
as reading materials in the home.
